Psychotherapy is a complex process.  It is influenced by a variety of factors including the therapist’s theoretical orientation and skill, and the patient’s expectations and willingness to make significant life changes.

You come to therapy with a unique set of life experiences, skill sets, and desires for the future. As a therapist, it is my role to help you examine and perhaps modify your life circumstances in order to achieve your stated goals. Ideally, you will determine the direction that therapy will take. If we start to go off topic, I will redirect our conversations.

Therapy is most successful if the modality suits you. The therapeutic modalities I use include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Meditation, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming (EMDR), Art Therapy, and Clinical Hypnosis. Together, you and I will choose a modality based on your stated goals.

Presenting issues that I work with include Addictions, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Illness, Schizophrenia, Relationship Discord, Eating Disorders, Grief, Domestic Violence and Abuse, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

I work primarily with adults and adolescents. Children younger than 14 will be considered on a case by case basis.
